For faster coring and extended bit life, opt for wet core drill bits with high diamond concentration and superior quality, suitable for wet drilling in concrete, masonry, sandstone, limestone, and similar materials, including those with light steel reinforcement.

Q: What speed do you need to drill a diamond core?

A peripheral speed of 2.7 to 4.7 metres/second (9 to 15.5 feet/second) measured on the outside diameter of the bit crown will often provide an acceptable rate of penetration (ROP).

Q: How to sharpen a diamond core drill bit?

Pour into kerf a thick (1/4") layer of silica sand, the coarser the better. Resume coring for approximately 3 to 5 minutes with very little water and at a lower RPM if possible. Gradually increase water flow to flush sand from kerf. Repeat as needed.

Q: Will a diamond core bit cut through metal?

Diamond drills can cut through almost all materials, including some of the toughest materials such as concrete, metal, and glass.

Q: Which is stronger, carbide or diamond?

Diamonds remain the most scratch-resistant material known to humanity. Metals like titanium are far less scratch-resistant, and even extremely hard ceramics or tungsten carbide cannot compete with diamonds in terms of hardness or scratch-resistance.
